Your evening for an Athens by Night Tour begins with an introductory panoramic drive through Athens City Center. You will pass by the slope of the sacred hill that is arguably the most impressive ancient ruin of the city. It epitomises the glory of ancient Greece. You will be able to observe, admire and photograph the illuminated Athens Acropolis, that stands proud high above the modern city, under the nightly dome of the Athenian sky.

There is a place in Athens that contradicts its modern urban environment. This place is called Plaka and it is the city's oldest district. It is also frequently mentioned as the «Gods' district». The fame is rightfully justified, as you will soon find out in this tour. Once start walking on its paved narrow lanes, you will get the feeling that you've travelled back in time.

Plaka’s air is different, softer, pure and full of scents. As if it were gifted by the Gods themselves. If you decide to walk around, make sure that you have a map. The area's narrow streets resemble labyrinth and will probably make you feel a bit disoriented.

How the area took its name is still unclear. The most prevalent opinion is that Plaka was named after a large stone slab that was unearthed not far from the church of Aghios Georgios Alexandreias, next to Dionysus Ancient Theater. This old part of the city has preserved its elegant vintage character. You'll walk through its narrow streets and see the beautiful houses, their neoclassic colours, the neat architecture and their well-preserved gardens. The atmosphere and the scenery will flirt with your senses.
